Dear Golfers

Winter is about to end and spring is on the way. For the beginning of the 2000 Golf Season we are preparing for the season's opening tournament, 2000 Thingyan Open, that will take place on Saturday, April 22, at 12:00 p.m. at the Fairfax National Golf Club. Fairfax National Golf Club is one of the premier semi-private golf clubs in Northern Virginia. Tentatively we have made a tee time reservation for 32 players. Please make sure to register for your spot as early as possible because space is very limited at this time.

Cost of play for this time is $ 55. This includes green, cart and tournament fees. Please make your check payable to "Nyein Min". All participants need to send their fee no later than April 6 (Thursday). We need to make a full payment two weeks prior to the tournament date. Your cooperation is very helpful to us. We can not guarantee your spot for late reply.

We are looking for women golfers to join in our tournament. If any women would like to play in our tournament please encourage them to do so.

After the game we will be hosting prize ceremony at the Fairfax National Club House. We will make sure everybody enjoys our party. We have several prizes for the winning players.

Directions to the golf course:

      Fairfax National Golf Club
      16850 Sudley Road

9/13/1999 8:13:09 PM - Sayama Daw Khin Ni Ni Thein's message from WRTC
 Dear XXX,

This is to inform you of the fact that I have contacted various universities and research institutes in order to channelize any sort of support for your research, either financial or academic. I am still await for their response. I will keep informing you every now and then.

If you come across any water resources management researchers who would like to join the WRTC research team, please let me know. Also please let them know that the following opportunity/possibility exists.

It is this, WRTC is ready to recruit approximately 30-members from inside Burma to do applied research in the areas of (a) integrated water resources management and, (b)drinking water and sanitation. The WRTC will provide newly recruited Burmese researchers a free membership to the IAHR, The International Association for Hydraulic Research, under the WRTC's corporate membership agreement with the IAHR. The IAHR has already shown its genuine interest in the WRTC's existing research team. Thus my proposed idea to expand the team has been greatly appreciated.

For your information, I have been an individual member of the IAHR for more than a decade; the individual membership fee is about 60 US$ per annual. However, the Burmese researchers who join the WRTC research team don't have to pay this amount by themselves, for the WRTC takes the pleasure to cover the fee for them.

I hope everything is alright with you. Wish you all the success in your career building.

With metta,
