Obituary - Dr. Htay Lwin Nyo
[Page Last Updated : Monday, May 29, 2000 12:09:56 PM]

Thank You
25 May 2000
Dear Ma Ma Nyo and U Hla Min,

We learnt that there was a large attendence at Ko Htay's funeral in all three ceremonies. U Hla Min's ode to Ko Htay was very moving and a great tribute to him. We are indeed indebted to all of you who made all the arrangements to make this possible. Even though it was not possible for us to attend his funeral, much to our regrets, we would really appreciate if the digital and analog photos of Ko Htay's last journey, taken by Ko Maurice could be sent to us.

We would also like to have Ko Htay's Death Certificate/Cremation record and other relevant documents. We have also contacted Dr. Wei (by e mail) and Ms. Judy Cardoza (by fax) with copies sent to Ma Ma Nyo. Thank you again for everything even though words cannot express our deep gratitude.

U Hla Min's reply
Dear Family Members of HLN,

We'd also like to thank Ko Khin Maung Zaw (a) KMZ (web master of RIT Alumni International), Ko Maurice Chee (Treasurer, Bay Area Alumni Group, also VP, BAPS), donors to "HLN Memorial Fund" (started with the seed money by Ko KMZ), ex-RIT and ex-UCC alumni, BAPS EC members (U Nyo Win, Benny Tan, Roger Sha, etc.), the Burmese community (including many who did not know HLN), the Board members of Tathagatha Meditation Center, TMC (who graciously allowed us to use the premises), the Venerable Sayadaws from TMC (San Jose) and Dhamma Nanda Vihara (Half Moon Bay) for the Memorial Services, the faculty and students of SJSU (notably Prof. Wei, Chair, EE, SJSU and Yolanda Aye Aye Win (a) Mie Mie), the numerous volunteers who put in time and money.

I'll ask KMZ to put all the digital photos on a compact disk (CD). For the analog photos, we'll try to get it from several people (including Maurice and Ko Aung Zaw Maung).

Hla Min

Webmaster's Note : The requested pictures of HLN's memorial services, as well as the pages here, will be put on a CD ROM and sent to the family back in Yangon, Myanmar.
